Google's transparency report serves as subtle call to action

Jan. 25, 2013 - TechNewsWorld - Google may be handing governments a lot of data users would consider personal and private, but at least it's taking some steps to let people know what's going on. Its semiannual Transparency Report could be viewed not only as an effort to inform the public about the government's probing, but also to stimulate a public discussion of the need to reform the Electronic Communications Privacy Act.
