Veteran corporate and bankruptcy lawyer Luis Salazar served as the Keynote Speaker at the third annual CEO and General Counsels Dinner held in Key Biscayne, Florida at the Rusty Pelican restaurant and venue. Produced and hosted by Judicial Events, this event was attended by approximately 500 of the top in-house counsel, members of the judiciary and C-suite executives.
It was an evening of networking as well as a venue to honor attorneys and business leaders that have made a substantial impact in South Florida through projects, advocacy and business ventures that steer Miami to become a strong and connected community.
Salazar, the founder of Salazar Law, LLP, gave an aspirational address about big businesses and technology companies bringing their operations to Miami, professing that Miami is the “gateway to the Americas” and to embrace the diversity that this community holds.
As Salazar put it, “To the Amazons of the world, come. Ven aca. Be part of the city that will lead the way.”
Salazar continued, “I was not born here. I chose to live here, to lay roots here, to raise a family here, to start a business here – to make a life here. Didn’t all of you make the same choice?”
Other notable attendees included counsel from Bacardi, Fontainebleau Miami Beach, Modernizing Medicine, Starbucks, shareholders from Greenberg Traurig, and the owner of NHL’s Florida Panthers, among many others.
