Salazar Jackson LLP’s Firm Project Manager Amanda Braun is leading two sessions at the upcoming Project Management Institute (PMI)® Global Congress 2015 – North America October 11-13, 2015 at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort in Orlando. Braun, who is a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP®) and attorney, directs Salazar Jackson’s in-house project management platform SJ Agile.
On Sunday, October 11 at 1:30 p.m., Braun will present “Law-gile: An Evolution.” This session will discuss the application of project management in legal and professional service industries.
On Tuesday, October 13 at 10:30 a.m., Braun will serve as one of three panelists at “The Fireside Chat: Women in Project Management” session. Braun and her fellow panels will lead a discussion regarding what is it like to be a woman in project management. In this predominantly male field, the panelists will explore the strengths women bring to the project management profession, changes they have observed for women in the profession, challenges and opportunities.
At Salazar Jackson, Braun oversees all client projects and guides project scoping, budgeting, and resource allocation to assure that client projects are handled efficiently and effectively. Her position is in response to the changing landscape of the legal industry and a desire by the firm to operate in a lean manner that benefits clients.
“As law firms continue to face clients demanding for more work at a lower cost, project management is becoming increasingly popular in the legal industry as a tool to deal with these issues,” said Braun. “Many of the country’s largest law firms have already implemented in-house project management to streamline operations, increase predictability and productivity, and control pricing, and now smaller firms are starting to join the movement.”
